Crush the Serpent

Evil surrounds us, and whether we like it or not, whether we realize it or not, we find ourselves fighting for our lives.

The Evil One seeks to drag us down with him into despair. He snags us with the serpents of sin and temptation, selfish attachments, and the seeds of self-doubt. Meanwhile, Christ the Lord beckons us onward and upward to the heights of heaven.

And Jesus doesn’t just cry out to us from high in the clouds. He doesn’t “stay on the sidelines” or yell from a safe distance as one might to a person who has fallen through the ice and into the freezing water.

No, the good news is that when our humanity fell through the ice and into the frozen lake of sin, Christ jumped in after us. He has come to our aid. He has pulled us out of a watery grave.

If you find yourself drowning in sin or despair, do not lose hope. Do not give up the fight. Christ is coming! He can rescue you – lift up your hand and your heart to Him.

Ask Him to crush the serpents that ensnare you.
